Pashupatinath

The temple of lord Shiva-Pashupatinath is situated 5 km northeast of Kathmandu on the bank of Bagmati River. Pashupatinath, the holiest of all Shiva’s shrines in Nepal is South Asia’s most important linga sites for Hindu Pilgrims. Linga or Lingum- Phallic symbol. The lingum of Pashupatinath is over 1m in height and lies in the inner sanctum. The temple of two –tiered golden roof and silver doors in famous for its superb architecture.
